About SCPT Scientific council
Scientific Center of Physical Technologies (SCPT) of Ministry of Education and Science and National Academy of Science of Ukraine
was founded in 1992 on the base of several research laboratories of V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University. These laboratories had been working out vacuum-plasma equipment
for microelectronics, optics, instrument-making industry, medicine for more than 20 years.
The main fields of research activity of SCPT include scientific researches in the field of plasma physics, physics of charged particle beams, materials science
and physics of nanostuctures, and also development and creation of experimental vacuum-plasma equipment for various scientific and inductrial purposes.
SCPT has more than 20 years of experience working with leading companies in engineering, microelectronics and high technology. In particular, new types of ion sources, high-frequency diodes and plasma-chemical
reactors for microelectronics, semi-automated systems for low-energy plasma-chemical etching have been developed. More than 30 patents and certificates were received, more than 15 Candidate of Science (PhD) and
several Doctor of Science dissertations were defended.
Scientific Center of Physical Technologies in cooperation with V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University carries out active educational work, directed on preparation of young specialists in the field of plasma physics,
nanophysics and physics of charged particle beams.
Within the bounds of collaboration between V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University and SCPT in 1992 Educational-Scientific Complex of Physical Technologies was organized, in 1993 the Chair of Physical Technologies was
created on Department of Applied Physics, since 2003 the International scientific journal “Physical surface engineering” has been published, and since 2006 School of young physicists has worked.
